Membership
CARA membership is open to all who live or have businesses within our catchment area, whether renting or owning property……all are welcome as members. (Our catchment area is marked in red on the map below.)
Residents and businesses who live or are based outside our catchment are also welcome to join CARA as Associate Members. The only significant difference between full membership and Associate Membership is that associates cannot be nominated or stand for office on the CARA Committee, nor can they vote at AGMs or EGM (Annual General Meetings or Extraordinary General Meetings).
Members gain access to a calendar of social events and activities and at meetings, via communications with Committee members, or by more general informal contact with CARA officers, can raise concerns and discuss and highlight any local issues.
Membership costs £7.50 per annum per household. If you would like to join CARA, please fill in an application form and forward it to the individual indicated at the bottom of the form. (Click here to view and access the application form.)

Catchment Area
The Circus Area encompasses the residential and commercial area around the Circus and the Assembly Rooms. Its boundaries extend from Queen’s Parade, meeting Gay Street, along George Street, Lansdown Road, Julian Road, Crescent Lane, Upper Church Street, and Brock Street.
Note: Catharine Place has its own Residents Association, with its residents nonetheless being welcomed to also join CARA as Associate Members, using the same application form indicated above.
